Wildhorse Capital Partners named lead sponsor for May 26th Suits and Boots Resource Rally

Suits and Boots founder Rick Peterson announced today that Wildhorse Capital Partners of Calgary has been named lead sponsor of a May 26thresource rally in Langley, BC.

“We’re thrilled that Wildhorse stepped up to the plate on their own and wrote a cheque to help support our rally in Langley,” said Peterson.

“This is a brand new merchant banking boutique in Calgary, and for the partners to commit their own funds in support of our event speaks volumes about their character and their dedication to this cause.”

Co-founders Joshua Mann and Chris Fenn launched Wildhorse last August. The company offers merchant banking, finance & advisory as well as sales & marketing services to private and publicly owned businesses. Wildhorse Managing Director Ryan Atkins is a founding Suits and Boots director.

“We’re impressed by the energy and commitment of the Suits and Boots team as well as all the other groups that are standing up in support of responsible resource development”, said Mr. Atkins. “If ever there was a time to step up and make our voices heard, it’s now, and we’re more than happy to do so.”

Tamara Jansen, a Langley businesswoman who has offered the space for the Langley event on her property as well as logistics and marketing support, said that she’s deeply grateful for Wildhorse’s generosity.

“It’s so nice to get support from Alberta businesspeople like Josh,  Chris and Ryan who know that there are so very many of us in BC who want to see the Trans Mountain pipeline get built. We’re deeply grateful and will work hard to make this a great event.”

The Suits and Boots rally will take place from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 26th in the large parking lot behind the historical Milner Chapel at 6710-216 St. in Langley, BC. The event will take place five days before the May 31st deadline set out by Kinder Morgan to decide whether it will proceed with the proposed Trans Mountain pipeline in the face of delays and opposition from the BC government

Suits and Boots is the newest voice of grassroots support of the business sector in Canada. It is composed of individual professionals from the investment industry and other business sectors across Canada along with resource workers and their families.

The Suits and Boots rally in Langley will be supported by other groups who have led the resource support effort in Alberta and BC over the past several weeks, including Resource Works, Rally 4 Resources, BC Proud, Canada Action and others who advocate for responsible resource development in Canada.

Two other resource rallies are also planned in British Columbia on May 26th in conjunction with the Suits and Boots rally in Langley. FSJ for LNG will be staging a rally in Fort St. John, BC, and The North Matters will be hosting a similar event in support of LNG in Kitimat.

The combined turnout of the Langley, Fort St. John and Kitimat rallies promises to make the May 26th province-wide pro-resource demonstrations the single largest resource rally ever held in Canada.
